1. Introduction

The KSU CIS Department Online Advising website was envisioned to be a website that CIS advisors could use to help them perform some of their advising duties. Such as comparing a student's past courses and generating recommended courses the student should take next based on their major. Also, the system was built with functionality to email advised classes to students, save comments on the student, and determine if a student had not taken courses he or she was advised to take in previous semesters. The site was built using Java Server Pages, Servlets, HTML, CSS, and a MySQL database.
